Loving kindness (unit 4 blog)

I tried first time loving kindness practice. I think it is very beneficial. It was hard for me to do 15 minutes because I had lot of thoughts in my mind. Resting comfortably in your natural state of peace and ease, bring to mind an individual, someone close to you, who you hold with great love and tenderness. Allow these loving feelings to expand within your heart as if a faucet of loving kindness were being turned on. I really enjoyed these feelings and I would recommend this to my friends and family. I would love to do this practice at least twice a week. For me, Practicing loving kindness does not mean feeling love at the exclusion of any other emotions. Rather, it means calling upon loving kindness to enrobe all or the emotions inhabiting us in the present moment. Our emotions are shaped by our thoughts. If we retrain ourselves to substitute lovingly kind thoughts for our usual messages of self-hatred, over time, it is to be expected that our overall well-being will increase.

The concept of Mental Workout is trying hard to achieve total relaxation and relief of stress. It is requires lesser concentration as mediation to achieve its full effects. I do “bootcamp” classes in the morning; I considered that class as a mental workout. It’s really intense workout with relief your stress. I love doing it because it makes me feel good about myself. I became stronger by doing this workout. In mental workout, you begin with yourself. Breathe gently, and recite inwardly the following traditional phrases directed toward our own well being. You being with yourself, you trying hard to achieve your own goal. For this intense workout, you have to love yourself because without loving yourself it is almost impossible to love others.
